Bays Players Dominate High School All Metro and MIAA First Team Selections

Eight Bays Players Selected for First Team Honors.  Five more named to Second Team while Five others receive All MIAA Selection.

Congratulations to the following who led their High School teams this past Fall:

First Team All Metro Selections:

Oumar Ballo

Archbishop Curley, defender, senior

•A three-time first-team All-Metro pick

•A four-year starter, Ballo often took the best opposing forwards out of the game

•"He is physically gifted and has a great work rate," Curley coach Barry Stitz said.

•He will attend Loyola College

* All American Selection, All MIAA Selection

* Bays Chelsea 18 Academy Team


Geaton Caltabiano
Mount St. Joseph, midfielder, senior

•Led the Gaels in points with 16 goals and eight assists

•Had the winning goal in MIAA A Conference quarterfinals against Curley and winning penalty kick in semifinal shootout against Calvert Hall

•Scored both goals in a regular-season victory over McDonogh, then the No. 1 team in the nation

•Has taken official visits to Wake Forest, UMBC and Loyola

Pete Caringi III
Calvert Hall, forward, senior

•Finished the season with 14 goals, six assists in 16 games

•Scored the lone goal in the Cardinals' upset of then-No. 1 McDonogh and added a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over No. 14 Gilman in the same week

•Had two goals in the MIAA A Conference semifinals against No. 1 Mount St. Joseph

•Will attend UMBC after considering Providence and NC State

Marquez Fernandez
McDonogh, defender, senior

•A four-year starter who has been to four consecutive MIAA A Conference finals, winning two

•Scored 11 goals while anchoring an Eagles defense that recorded 18 shutouts

•Member of U.S. Under-17 national team

•Will attend Maryland after receiving scholarship offers from Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina

* Bays Chelsea 18 Academy Team


Joe Glos
Perry Hall, forward, junior

•Led the Gators with 13 goals and 10 assists

•Instrumental in leading Perry Hall to the Baltimore County championship

•Had two goals and an assist in Perry Hall's 5-2 upset over Calvert Hall in October

•Has several Division I colleges expressing interest, including Towson and UMBC 

* Bays Chelsea 16 Academy Team


Mamadou Kansaye
McDonogh, forward, senior

• Scored eight goals and had 16 assists; was at times the most dominant player on the field

• Two-year captain who led team to a 41-3-1 record over that stretch

• Member of U.S. Under-17 national team

• Will play at Maryland 

* All American Selection, All MIAA Selection

* Bays Chelsea 18 Academy Team


Seth Moses
Loch Raven, forward-defender, junior

• Guided the Raiders to the Class 1A state championship

• Led Loch Raven with 10 goals and seven assists

* Bays Chelsea 16 Academy Team


Tim Peitsch
Loyola, goalie, senior

• Led Loyola to MIAA A Conference semifinals and is a two-time first-team All-State selection

• Four-year varsity starter

• Two-time United States Youth Soccer Association national champion, where he was named the top goalkeeper in both tournaments

• Orally committed to San Diego State

* All MIAA Selection
