Jeff Bookman is employed by Chelsea Football Club of London, England and serves the Bays as a Technical Advisor, a role created by Chelsea for the Bays as part of the working agreement between the two Clubs.
Jeff's primary responsibility for the Bays will be to provide ongoing technical/tactical instruction for the Club's Coaching staff. He will also assist Bays Senior staff in indentifying players to send over to England for evaluations.
At a young age, Jeff played for Arsenal and Chelsea, becoming Captain of England's U18 Schoolboys during that time.
At the end of a long playing career, Jeff moved into coaching and soon became a U.E.F.A. "A" license coach in 1998. Jeff has since gone on to achieve The F.A. Youth Coaches Award and has become a Coach Educator working for the English F. A. as a lead tutor for levels 1 & 2.
Jeff was one of a select group of advanced coaches who were asked to launch the David Beckham Academy in London. He remained there for one year before continuing on with Chelsea as an Academy Head Coach and in an International coaching capacity.
Currently, Jeff is the technical advising "point man" for Chelsea FC supporting their international partners including the Baltimore Bays.
Jeff Bookman:
"I would've had no interest in this position for Chelsea if it didn't include ongoing education for our international Clubs like the Bays. That is, I wasn't interested in coming over one time for an introduction and leaving it at that. This will be a progression of learning for the Bays Coaches. Chelsea FC has committed the resources and are very serious about providing ongoing learning systems for their partner Clubs like the Baltimore Bays."
